  4. The wall of the fruit (pericarp) is
  5. differentiated into the outer skin (exocarp),
  6. the fleshy layer of tissues (mesocarp), and
  7. the hard layer surrounding the seed
  8. (endocarp). The coconut is a drupe, but here
  9. the pericarp becomes dry and fibrous at
  10. maturity. Blackberries are an aggregate fruit
  11. composed of a cluster of small drupes.
